Techron® Concentrate Plus should be used every 5,000 kilometres or at every oil change. 

Simply pour a bottle into your nearly empty fuel tank. Then fill up as you normally would. Techron® Concentrate Plus works in one tankful. 

If you are using a high-quality gasoline such as Caltex with Techron® exclusively, you do not need Techron® Concentrate Plus. However, if you occasionally fill up with lower quality gasoline, Techron® Concentrate Plus can help clean up deposits that can form over time.  In addition, if you have an engine that is sensitive to deposit formation, or if your vehicle is regularly used under severe conditions, you may benefit from using Techron® Concentrate Plus.

Techron® Concentrate Plus is proven to be superior to other aftermarket additives thanks to its significant amount of detergent that helps protect vital engine components.  Every year, competitor products are purchased by Chevron and broken down to their molecular level to be analyzed for their contents. Competitor products either completely lack or have very little of these important detergents that can remove harmful engine deposits. 

If Techron® Concentrate Plus is used in smaller displacement engines, such as a motorcycle, you should not use the whole bottle. We recommend one ounce of Techron® Concentrate Plus for every gallon of fuel.

Knocking and pinging are generally caused by improper combustion in your engine. If the fuel-air mixture auto-ignites somewhere in the cylinder, the auto-ignition combustion wave can interact with the spark-initiated combustion wave, causing the vibration you hear as knock or ping. An increase in engine load, temperature, compression, spark-advance, air-fuel ratio and combustion chamber deposits all contribute to the tendency for an engine to knock. The use of higher octane fuel reduces this tendency. Deposits in the combustion chamber can increase you engine's appetite for octane by increasing the compression ratio. Fortunately, gasoline with Techron® minimises any contribution to potentially harmful combustion chamber deposits.

The principal difference is additive concentration and rate of deposit clean up. Chevron and Texaco gasolines with Techron® over multiple fill-ups will help clean deposits on intake valves and minimize harmful combustion chambers deposits. When added to a full tank of gasoline, a bottle of Techron® Concentrate Plus results in an additive concentration roughly 10 times stronger than Chevron and Texaco with Techron®. This mega-dose of Techron® provides a much quicker clean-up of intake valve deposits left by lower quality gasolines. In addition, the high concentration of Techron® reduces combustion chamber deposits, which can help eliminate deposit-related engine knock or power loss.
