What will happen to my car if I use a fake lubricant?

Fake products can sometimes cause instant damage to the engine. In other cases it may cause relatively slow but irreversable damage to the engine which will certainly reduce the life of your engine.

How do I verify I purchased a genuine Caltex product?

To verify that you have purchased a genuine Caltex product, check for the sticker with holographic flip-flop feature fixed on the cap. Scratch the coated part of
the sticker to reveal a unique code, SMS it to 9879 and match the code you receive on your phone with the one on the top part of the sticker.

How do I use the code on my pack to verify the authenticity of my purchased Caltex lubricant?

Once you have scratched the sticker on the Caltex pack to reveal the unique code, SMS it to 9879. You will receive a message immediately that contains the check digit code mentioned on the top part of the sticker.
Match the two codes to ensure they are the same. If yes, then your purchase is a genuine Caltex product.

How do I find the unique anti-counterfeit code?

You must scratch the green coated part of the sticker with the word ‘Caltex’ written on it to reveal a unique code. This code must then be sent via SMS to 9879. The text message received in response will match with the check digit on the top part of the sticker.

I can’t find the sticker on my pack, what should I do?

All Caltex Lubricants manufactured on or after March 29, 2019 carry the anti-counterfeit sticker. However, this feature is presently not available on imported lubricants and specialty products. If your pack is manufactured on or after March 29, 2019 and there is no sticker seal on  it,  please call MERA CALTEX - 0800-12122.

There is a sticker on my pack, but it does not have a holographic flip-flop feature, what should I do?

Genuine Caltex Lubricants have an anti-counterfeit sticker which has a holographic Caltex logo on the top of the cap with a flip-flop feature. If your pack has a sticker without a holographic flip-flop feature, it may not be a genuine Caltex lubricant. Please call MERA CALTEX - 0800-12122.

What do I do with the check digit /code I have received on my phone?

The check digit you receive on your phone must match the one
written on the top part of the sticker affixed on the pack. Match the two codes
to verify that your purchase is a genuine product.  If the two codes do not match, call us on
0800-12122.
