Caltex Stations Offers More Convenience with 7-Eleven Stores

October 22, 2009

MAKATI City, Philippines, 22 October 2009 – Caltex retail stations have a value added offering for customers and motorists alike with the opening of the first 7-Eleven convenience stores located in Caltex service stations in Malugay, Makati City; and, Connecticut Street cor. EDSA in San Juan.

Seven more 7-Eleven convenience stores are opening in Caltex retail stations across Metro Manila within the month of October. By the end of the year, some twenty-one (21) 7-Eleven convenience stores will be operational in Caltex retail stations in Metro Manila.

The synergy between the two brands is expected to boost fuel and consumer sales as patrons of the two popular brands enjoy the benefit of getting their fuels and consumer products all in the same location.

Chevron Philippines Incorporated (CPI), proud marketer of the Caltex™ brand of top quality fuels and petroleum products, recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Philippine Seven Corporation (PSC), local franchisor of the popular 7-11 convenience store chain, aimed at leveraging the marketing and retail strengths of the two organizations.

CPI Country Chairman Jim Meynink said, “Our alliance with 7-11 is part of a global strategy geared at making us concentrate on our core business function which is to market top quality fuels and petroleum products safely and reliably.”

Meynink added, “The alliance with 7-Eleven, the recognized market leader in C-store operations, provides a compelling value proposition for our consumers and motorists who can now get their Caltex fuel and petroleum products as well as their favorite consumer items whenever they drive through our Caltex retail station with a 7-Eleven convenience store located in it.”

Victor Paterno, Philippine Seven Corporation President and CEO, meanwhile said, “We thank Caltex for placing its trust in us as we build our brands together and move forward.” He added that, “by having an alliance with an industry leader, we will open some very exciting marketing opportunities for Caltex, 7-Eleven, and the car-riding customer that we will be jointly serving.”

Consumers and motorists should expect a richer, fuller experience as these two very popular and trusted consumer brands join forces.
