For the second year running, Caltex is partnering with the People’s Association to fund and run ‘Caltex PAssion for Kids’, a community outreach programme.
SINGAPORE, 3 April, 2013 – The ‘Caltex PAssion for Kids’ programme is back! For the second year running, Caltex, a leading energy brand, will partner with People’s Association (PA) to support an enrichment programme targeted at students from low-income families through a PAssion Card promotion.
The Caltex PAssion for Kids programme was first launched in 2012 and is extending its community outreach efforts this year to over 200 underprivileged students, more than double the number of students from last year. It grants needy students, as identified through PA’s grassroots’ network, the opportunities to gain knowledge and develop new skills.
Brought to you by PA Lifeskills and Lifestyle Division, in collaboration with the local community clubs, each student will experience a specially designed super-charged six-month programme that involves one core and elective module of their choice. These courses will promote academic excellence and interpersonal development to inspire them to reach greater goals.
Through its continued partnership with PA, Caltex hopes to support Singapore’s on-going focus on education as the key to social mobility and an important social leveller. “Continuing our Caltex PAssion for Kids initiative allows us to extend the journey of assisting those in need. We are taking a holistic approach this year, so that these students benefit from an enriched academic programme that also supports their passion. It’s all about making the journey educational and enjoyable for everyone,” said John Sam, Caltex Retail Manager, Chevron Singapore Pte Ltd.
“For the second time, PA and its PAssion Card members are collaborating with Caltex to bring joy to underprivileged students in Singapore. Through this programme, these students will have the opportunity to develop a strong core foundation and also pursue their passion,” added Mr Chia Tze Yee, Group Director (Engagement Cluster-Lifestages), PA.
Consumers can support this programme with every $50 dollars of petrol pumped at Caltex stations in Singapore every Thursday between April to June 2013. Caltex will donate $2 to the Caltex PAssion for Kids programme, up to a maximum of $120,000. In addition, PAssion Card members will enjoy an additional 14% discount on petrol at Caltex stations in Singapore when they flash their PAssion Card.

It offers them the opportunity to gain knowledge, develop new skills and be exposed to new ways of thinking.
