    1. The CEC-F23-01 XUD-9 test demonstrates how Techron D performs in indirect injection engines. Indirect injection technology is dominant in older diesel engines. The test is run on an engine in a lab under controlled conditions using exactly the same fuel to measure the results with and without Techron D and comparing results to determine how much difference the addition of Techron D can make to keeping injectors clean. The XUD-9 test puts an engine under high stress and create conditions that will block the injectors, so it can test how well the fuel will keep the injectors clean. At the end of the test period the injectors are taken out and the flow is measured.

    2. ASTM D655A is a standard test to determine how effective an additive is at protecting an engine from rust.

    3. Fuel Economy was tested using a heavy duty chassis dynamometer using the Millbrook London Transport Bus drive cycle. Fuel consumption was measured at the start of the test and after 3 months of normal use. Improvement in fuel economy can be attributed to the cleaning of fuel injector deposits after switching to diesel with Techron D.
