1. Why are we revamping our Caltex petrol with Techron offering?
   
   The introduction of Regular 92 with Techron and the new reduced price for Platinum 98 with Techron reflects Caltex’s response to the current market conditions – to provide more value for our customers’ motoring dollar with more choices, more benefits and more savings.

Caltex customers will now have a more comprehensive range of petrol products to choose from to suit their car’s octane requirements and driving needs.

Existing Gold with Techron customers will now receive Caltex’s ultra-premium petrol – Platinum 98 with Techron – at the same price as Gold with Techron.

Platinum 98 with Techron contains an added combustion enhancer which provides a more responsive drive.

More savings:
Platinum 98 with Techron will now retail at a lower price, and is the only ultra-premium petrol product priced on par with other Regular 98 petrols in the market.
 

2. I was previously using Gold with Techron. Is Platinum 98 with Techron suitable for my car?
   
   The octane ratings for Gold with Techron and Platinum 98 with Techron are the same – both are octane 98 petrol. Hence, they are both equally suitable for your car.
    
3. What is the difference between Regular 92 with Techron, Premium 95 with Techron and Platinum 98 with Techron?
   
   The difference is their octane ratings (92, 95 or 98).
   
   Platinum 98 with Techron contains an additional combustion enhancer which gives a smoother and consistent combustion. This allows for improved utilisation of the energy released during combustion, thereby helping to improve vehicle performance.
    
4. What octane should I use for my car?
   
   The octane determines a petrol’s ‘anti-knock’ quality or resistance to pre-ignition or detonation as it burns in the combustion chamber. The right octane gives you a more responsive engine and optimal performance.
   
   Please refer to the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) recommendation in your car manual or check the back of your car’s petrol filler lid for the recommended octane.

* Please note that Platinum 98 with Techron will not be available at Caltex Jalan Buroh.
