A light distillate for use in general kerosene applications, including heating, lighting, and refrigeration. It is easy to light, burns steadily, and is free of objectionable odors.
 A premium grade diesel fuel for use in high speed automotive diesel engines. It can also be used in high speed diesels used in industrial applications. The high cetane index and controlled distillation characteristics ensure easy starting and smooth combustion. The viscosity is normally sufficiently high enough to provide proper lubrication of fuel pumps and injectors. Lower viscosity fuels are sometimes available for special applications and are treated with a lubricity additive to protect fuel pumps and injectors. Also in low sulfur diesels a lubricity additive is used to prevent pump and injector wear. The sulfur content is controlled to minimize deposits, corrosion and meet local legislated levels. The low temperature flow characteristics are designed to ensure satisfactory operation in the climatic conditions in which the fuel is used. Caltex Diesel Fuel can also be used in place of heating oil for steam raising and industrial heating purposes in small domestic type boilers/burners right up to the larger industrial packaged boilers designed for disel/heating oil.
Diesel fuels, for use in low and medium speed diesel engines in stationary and marine services. They have satisfactory cetane index, flow characteristics, and sulfur content for these engines and provide good economy in use. They may also be used as a burner fuel in commercial and industrial installations. Caltex Marine and Industrial Diesel fuels may be black in color and may contain a small residual fuel component as required to meet tax or other local legislation.
