Chevron South Africa sponsors the National IPET Top Engineering Awards. This awards programme is given to graduates achieving the highest average marks for the BTech degrees across all engineering disciplines. As a national awards initiative, this programme is open to students from all tertiary institutions within South Africa.
Also each year, the best South African female BTech graduate is awarded a special medal. The medals are awarded by the Institute of Professional Engineering Technologists (IPET) and sponsored by Chevron. Chevron sponsors this IPET initiative as a means to encouraging greater participation of females in the field of what has been generally seen as a male dominated industry. . .
