Chevron South Africa has been one of the major sponsors of the Prison Broadcasting Network (PBN) which was established in August 1999 at the Pollsmoor Prison in Cape Town. The Prison Broadcasting Network is committed to the holistic rehabilitation and moral rejuvenation of inmates utilising radio as a medium. There are over 180,000 prisoners in South Africa. PBN’s vision is to reach them all through their radio broadcast network. The broadcast network is resourced and run by inmates serving time at the prison as part of their rehabilitation activities.
