Caltex Diesel(Bio) with Techron®D is the only B5 product which contains the exclusive Techron®D additive to control deposits, help maintain fuel injector cleanliness and support optimum engine performance.

 

Can any motor vehicle use Caltex Diesel(Bio) with Techron®D?
Most diesel vehicles are able to run on B5 blends, as long as the biodiesel blend is produced by a reputable supplier, such as Chevron, and meets the Malaysian fuel standards. However, it is highly recommended that you consult your vehicle owner’s manual for specific information regarding which type of fuel your vehicle can take. You may also consult your car dealer or manufacturer for additional information.

 

Is there a need for any special modifications to be done to a vehicle’s engine system for it to be able to use Caltex Diesel (Bio) with Techron®D?
There is generally no need for any engine improvements or modifications.

 

Can Caltex Diesel (Bio) with Techron®D be mixed with other similar products and regular diesel?
While it is safe to mix diesel and biodiesel blends purchased from different suppliers and dealers, it is strongly advised that you use only Caltex Diesel (Bio) with Techron®D to fully benefit from their cleaning and high performance qualities for your engine.

 

How do I ensure that Caltex Diesel (Bio) with Techron®D will work at its best with my vehicle?
Caltex Diesel (Bio) with Techron®D may be loaded into a vehicle’s fuel storage tank without draining the remaining diesel in it. However, if the fuel storage tank has not been cleaned for a long period of time, there may already be a presence of water and dirt. In this case, the fuel storage tank should be drained by a qualified professional.

The materials of construction of the vehicle’s fuel system should be compatible with biodiesel. To ensure this, you may avail of the services of your professional car mechanic.

 

Can Caltex Diesel (Bio) with Techron®D be used in motorboats?
Since there are many types and models of motorboats, advice and information must be sought from motorboat engine manufacturers or suppliers.

 

When and where will Caltex Diesel (Bio) with Techron®D be available?
As per Government mandate, Caltex Diesel (Bio) with Techron®D will be progressively available in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka as of July 2011.

 

What is the implementation plan of B5 in Malaysia?
Government agencies such as DBKL and Armed Forces started using B5 in February 2009 which involved 3,900 diesel vehicles with no adverse effects reported to date. The B5 Programme has been implemented in stages in Malaysia beginning 1st June 2011 for retail stations in the Central Region starting with Putrajaya. By 1 November 2011, B5 will be made available in all other retail stations in the Central Region viz Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
